What is Second-Studio?
Second Studio is a design and design studio based in Sicily that creates contemporary furnishing accessories, combining craftsmanship and Made in Italy production.
Born on 1 January 2022, the studio transforms shape, color, light and materials into design objects with an essential and refined character.
Our History
Second Studio is born from an intuition shared between friends, when some personal creations by designer Ignazio are recognized as the starting point for a real entrepreneurial project.
The name "II Studio" recalls the Roman number "second" and encloses the initials of the studio's first designer, becoming a symbol of identity and creative continuity.
Philosophy and Vision
Second Studio's philosophy is based on an elegant sobriety: selected materials, simple shapes and light are designed to warm the interiors with harmony out of fashion.
Each project was created to accompany everyday life with discretion and personality, creating welcoming and contemporary domestic environments.
Sicilian design between crafts and industry
Starting from a strong artisan root, Second Studio collaborates with industrial cutting companies in Italy and the United States to bring Sicilian design on an international scale.
This double soul, handmade and productive, allows to combine uniqueness, quality and aesthetic consistency, always keeping the identity Made in Sicily central.
Ignazio Iacono
It was born on 11 February 1991 in Noto, Sicily, a country not too small with a remarkable late Baroque architectural heritage. After completing his classical studies, he graduated from Catania in Modern Languages and Literature. Immediately afterwards he decided to enroll in the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Visual Communication course of the Polytechnic of Turin. At the same time, he attended the University of Applied Arts "Peter Behrens School of Arts" in Duesseldorf, Germany.
In Milan, he began his first work experience as a designer at the design and architecture studio FABIOFANTOLINO.
He subsequently worked for a period at the Milanese studio of one of the masters of Italian design, Rodolfo Dordoni.
After a transfer to Sicily and some external projects, he decided to found, thanks to the strong stimulus of some friends, "Second Studio".
It was 2024 when the selection of the SATELLITE pavilion of the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2024 arrived. From this event begins a collaboration with companies in the world of interior design and office design.
